Heh, I wish it was the weekend already. hopefully these next few days will fly by
So here is a photo of the amazing banana muffins I made last week. They are awesome. The recipe was one I randomly found on allrecipes.com It has a yummy crumb topping and is super banana-y. Highly recommend.
As far as exercise, yesterday was a rest day. Today after I got home from work I did a quick 30 minutes on the treadmill, it felt great. I expected it to drag and drag because the treadmill can be so boring but I really felt great after it.
I’m feeling pretty excited because I ordered a new pair of running shoes on Saturday, and they’re scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. For my first 1 1/2 years of running I ran in Asics Gel Cumulus, but I found that my ankles bothered me a lot. So I decided to give the Asics Hyperspeed 4s a try. I really wanted something with a very small heel to toe drop because I had a suspicion it was causing my ankle pain. After my first run in them I felt great. The only issue was that they are technically trainers and thus wear pretty quickly. I have only about 250 miles on them but I started getting symptoms of needing to change shoes – shin splints ick – so the husband and I did some research this weekend to find another good neutral shoe with very minimal heel to toe drop. We came across the Saucony ProGrid Kinvaras and I’m hoping they’ll do the trick. The best part was I was able to get them in pink! I’m always a little sad to say goodbye to running shoes – I feel like I spend so much time with them on my feet and they’re with me through good and bad (corny right?) but I’m excited to get some new ones and give them a try.
