Kona Kase Review

14 Aug

I recently had the opportunity to review a Kona Kase through Sweat Pink.

I’m not gonna lie, there are SO MANY monthly box-filled-with-goodies subscriptions out there, I easily get overwhelmed. I don’t need new makeup every month, or clothes… but food, that I could get on board with. 🙂

I was excited to try out a Kona Kase and when I got the box I was seriously impressed with the amount of food in it.

It had everything from turkey jerky to energy chews for running, to cookies, to Gu-like substances, to granola, to bars. Awesome variety. At $15 (or less, if you order a mult-month package) for a box of all this stuff, the price seems reasonable to me. (Side note, shipping is included in that price.)

I also loved that they included a card with descriptions of each product as well as coupon codes to purchase more if you are interested.

I haven’t had the opportunity to try all of the products yet, but I will say there are some things that I have really liked having the opportunity to try, and other products I wasn’t a huge fan of. But I think that is the benfit of something like this – you can try things out without committing to buy a lot of one product.

Now to the nitty gritty. There were a few things about the Kona Kase I wasn’t a huge fan of.

First of all, I wish Kona Kase had the option to select a case based on a dietary restriction. Especially since I think these would appeal to folks that may have some sort of preference in this area. I had to flat out pitch the Perky Jerky because the hubby and I are both vegetarians. Bummer.

My only other complaint is that I wasn’t a huge fan of the fact that a few of the products came in un-marked, clear packaging. It just looked unprofessional, and I had to figure out what products they were by process of elimination.

All that being said, I think these are a neat opportunity to try out new products (for example, I LOVED the ProBar energy chews – I would buy those again, hands down).

If you are intersted in trying one out for yourself, you can get $5 off your Kona Kase purchase with the code “GIFTSUMMER”.

I was given a Kona Kase in exchange for a blog review. The opinions written in this review are my own.

I haven’t tried Kona Kase, but I have tried Bulu Box and I just got a Stride Box subscription and I agree that it would be nice if they took dietary needs into consideration. I have a nut allergy which limits the products I can try. My roommate is loving it though. She gets all of the items containing nuts!
