Training for Two Half Marathons in One Weekend – Week 1

Last week was the first official week of training for back to back half marathons on Halloween Weekend! I’ll be running Rock n Roll Philly on October 31st and the D&L Heritage Half on November 1st. I do have a half before that weekend but it works into the training plan I am following perfectly so it’s not really the “goal” race for this cycle.  I’ll have a full post about how I’m training soon but basically I’m planning to get in 2 runs during the weekdays, and 2 runs on back-to-back days on the weekends. I also plan to keep up crosstraining with BodyPump 2-3 times a week, GRIT 2 times a week and BodyAttack 1-2 times a week.

The first week went well though I didn’t plan well and missed a full rest day.  I’ll be making sure to get one of those in over the next few days!

Monday – 3 miles + 2 strides in the AM, GRIT Cardio in the PM.

Tuesday – BodyAttack in the AM, BodyPump in the PM. Loving the banana I got after BodyAttack….

Wednesday – 3.5 easy miles in the AM, GRIT Cardio in the PM.

Thursday – BodyPump

Friday – BodyAttack

Saturday – 3 mile run to head to our meet up spot for #10milestowaffles! If you’ve never heard of #10milestowaffles on this blog before, its basically a group of us that walk a big 10 mile loop around town and end at our favorite local breakfast place! It originated back when I was training for Goofy and didn’t want to do a 10 mile walk alone and it has become a tradition. This weekend was our 5th time!

Sunday – 6 miles easy

Total Mileage: 15.5 run, 10 walked
