SLS3 Dual Pocket Run Belt (Review + Giveaway)

11 Feb

SLS3 offered to send me a Dual Pocket Run Belt in exchange for a blog review.  I volunteered for this opportunity, and all opinions are my own. There are no affiliate links in this post.

I have been a loyal user of a running belt for years, ever since I started running more than a few miles. I like to be able to store my gus + phone or iPod in there. I need a good amount of space. The running belt I have been using forever is good, but frankly can look a little bulky, and definitely bounces.  I have to adjust the way it sits on my waist before every run so it doesn’t look awkward and bounces minimally. I’m usually able to ignore it and focus on my running, but when SLS3 offered to send me their Dual Pocket Run Belt I jumped on board to try it out!

Here are the features of the SLS3 Dual Pocket Run Belt:

  • 2 large pockets – I had plenty of room for my iPhone 6 in one pocket, and shoved my gloves into the other pocket. You could also easily fit Gus or other nutrition in the pockets.
  • Water resistant – This is huge for me, as I always stick my phone in a plastic baggie to avoid getting it wet during races.
  • Fully adjustable for size 24″ through 38″

I wore the belt for a 5 mile run for the first time and have worn it on every outdoor run since then!

SLS3 (1)

I usually wear my running belt under my jacket, but I put it on top here so you can see how it fits when it’s empty.

For the first mile or so of the run I had to adjust the belt, as to be expected for using it for the first time. Then it settled comfortably right above my hips, and eventually I forgot I was even wearing it.

I loved that the elastic belt itself is super wide (it’s much wider than the other belt I have). This helps it to fit tightly but comfortably. This also meant NO BOUNCING. Awesome.

There are a few things I would change (but these honestly aren’t deal breakers for me). First, I loved having two pockets but the directions the zippers go (to close them you have to zip them towards the middle of your waist) was the opposite of what I would have preferred. Since I stick the device I’m listening to music to in my running belt, I like the zipper to go away from me so the cord comes out on my side where I’m less likely to get caught in it. I also think the zipper pulls could be a little larger and easier to grab on the run (see what I did there? 😉 ). Lastly, I had to loosen the belt as much as it would go because I like my running belts to sit a little lower than my waist. Maybe having two sizes would provide more options for people of different sizes and preferences?

Dislikes aside, the SLS3 Dual Pocket Run Belt has become my go to running belt.  There are just so many great features!

That Looks like a very sleek running belt! I’ve been considering replacing mine, or at least having an extra one! Will for sure be checking this out! Thanks!

I’ve been reluctant to use a belt, since I can’t stand them bouncing. I even have problems wearing my reflective harness some times. I wonder if this would work better.

I have yet to try a running belt, but it’s something I think about more and more each time I find myself out there with no pockets and too many things to carry! Thanks for the review of this one – looks like a good option!

I sometimes find myself carrying my phone, key, water bottle, pepperspray in my hands and think, “Why don’t I have a belt?” Thanks for the recommendation!

This looks awesome. I love the 2 pockets because I never run without my phone, but holding it can be a pain.

    • Becca February 16, 2016 at 5:03 pm #

Less chance of dropping it too!
