Bright Pink Shoes

21 Feb

It’s Tuesday. Doesn’t it feel like it should be Friday already? geesh.

Yesterday I had some blood taken at the doctor so I didn’t feel like pushing myself through an intense heated yoga session. So instead I went for a three mile run. The weather was awesome outside – not too hot and not too cold. And now that the sun is staying up longer and longer I was actually able to see the ground I was running on. 🙂

I also wore my new shoes! Check out how bright pink these are!

kinvarna2They’re Saucony Kinvara 2s – I was previously running in the first version.

They really stood out with my black tights, haha. As soon as I put them on I realized how worn down my old pair are. It was like walking on clouds.

During my run my legs didn’t feel nearly as brick-like and I had no shin pain. It was all in all a pretty good run. Much better than yesterdays.

Dinner was simple last night – smart dogs with some steamer veggies on the side.

I spent the evening watching Revenge on Hulu.(source)

Is anyone else addicted to this show? I just got into it so I’m literally on episode 3 but I can’t wait to catch up and watch it in “real time”.

My updated workout schedule for the week:

Monday – 3 miles
Tuesday – Zumba
Wednesday – rest
Thursday – Speedwork: 4 Mi, inc Warm; 2×1600 w/800 jogs; Cool
Friday – Yoga
Saturday – rest
Sunday – 5 miles

Rainy Tuesday

29 Nov

Ew, its cold and rainy outside today.

Luckily I got in a 30 minute run last night. Check that one off the list!

Planned workouts this week:
Monday – Run 30 min
Tuesday – Heated Yoga 60 min
Wednesday – Run 30 min
Thursday – EA Active arms n abs (I haven’t done this in forever, I need to get back at it)
Friday – Zumba 60 min, Run 30 min
Saturday – Run longer than 30 min
Sunday – Rest

I was out running by 5pm in my reflective vest to get as much of it done before it got super dark as possible. I ran the most random path last night – trying to stay on sidewalks (which are sparse in our neighborhood) since it got dark about 10 minutes in. If I had used my garmin it probably would have looked like a bunch of overlapping circles. There was only so many places to go – haha.

Dinner last night was boring, leftover thanksgiving “turkey” and stuffing and leftover alfredo spinach lasagna. Tonight I think we’ll actually have to cook something again.

After dinner I curled up on the couch and watched the Sing Off finale while eating a sugar cookie bar and drinking a cup of sugar cookie tea (from Celestial Seasons – their holiday flavors). It was nice. And I won’t say the winner in case you’re still catching up, but I definitely feel that the right group won. They were the most talented, had the most potential for selling records, and you could just tell how much it meant to them.

Enjoy your Tuesday – stay dry if it’s raining near you. And if it’s not, I’m jealous.

Happy Friday

24 Jun

Happy Friday!

This morning started off with a quick interval run on the treadmill – 5 minutes running, 5 minutes quick incline walk x 3.  Then I went to Wegmans to get the grocery shopping done. I picked up the usual stuff and finally a few fun things (I blame my empty stomach) – 1. Honey Stingers energy gels – I’ve been looking forever – so I picked them up – can’t wait to do a long run to try them out! 2. I also grabbed a couple pretzel rolls (they’re amazinggg) for the hubby and I to snack on. 3. I saw wraps sitting by the bread and their nutritition facts checked out so I figured I’d give them a shot instead of bread or sandwich thins for lunch. I’ve needed a switch up anyhow.

I met my grandma for brunch after shopping at a local breakfast place. And again, I was a bad blogger and neglected to get a photo, but I had 2 pieces of french toast, one egg scrambled and a fruit cup. It hit the spot.

Since then I’ve taken care of calling the cable company to cancel our service, laundry, packing for a quick trip tonight and makign some basic rice for a quick “snack.”

I’m off to watch some Glee (I’m almost through season one) and finish packing. I probably won’t be able to check in tomorrow but look for something interesting (and hopefully photos) on Sunday.

Cutting the cable

23 Jun

It’s my friday – don’t be jealous 🙂 I’m SO looking forward to a three day weekend.

I got in a 20 minute run yesterday morning before work. It was like running through pea soup – it was so humid. I was soaked by the time I was done.

After work the hubby and went to Bed, Bath & Beyond armed with a 20% off coupon and some store credit. We came out with wash cloths, hangers and an amazing cookie sheet to bake our homemade pizzas on. I know it seems random but we’d been making a list of things we needed wanted for a few weeks.

yes it's blurry - I wanted to take the picture quickly to get to eating!

Dinner was sandwiches from a local shop – we were feeling too lazy to shop. I got a wrap with sprouts, onions, carrots, provolone cheese and honey mustard dressing. I wish I had taken a picture but I completely forgot. Dessert was the last slice of red velvet birthday cake. I’ve been enjoying the leftovers all week but I guess the fun had to end at some point. 😦

The hubby and I have recently been looking at our cable TV usage. We have a DVR and a bazillion channels. I noticed that really we didn’t make use of 95% of the channels we got. And 99% of the shows we watch are available through hulu. Last week we talked about getting rid of cable TV and just using the antenna in our TV to get the free channels, and subscribing to hulu plus. This would save us at least $30 a month.

On Tuesday we pulled the plug and unplugged the DVR/Cable box. Then we reprogrammed the TV to find the channels that we got for free with the antenna. We still get about 20 channels – ABC, NBC, CBS, TBS, FOX, Discover, HSN, QVC, PBS, PCN, and a few others. This means that once football season starts we’ll be able to watch most of the games live. We have a computer hooked up to our TV so it makes watching shows on hulu super easy. The majority of the shows we watch are on hulu, and I love that you can set up alerts to add new episodes of your favorite shows to your queue automatically – it’s almost like having a DVR. The only channel I think I’m going to miss is Bravo, and my Real Housewives addiction. But I figure missing out on cat fights of the super-rich a few times week isn’t really going to make or break my sanity.

Time for the weekend

21 Apr

I banged out a 30 minute run when I got home from work today, yay! My shins are feeling pretty tender though, icing is definitely in the plans for the evening. For dinner the husband and I split a frozen Amy’s pizza, yum. Now that those onion rings from yesterday are out of my system I’m feeling much better.

Tomorrow I’m off of work and for the first time in a while it’ll be a pretty low key day off. We planned our meals for the week tonight so first things first I’ll be heading to Wegmans and Target. Then I’ll fit in some Yoga and maybe Abs n’ arms and then I’ve gotta make quick run to the mall. I’m psyched to have some time to relax tomorrow.

I’m off to have a little ice cream and watch wipeout with the hubby. Wipeout seriously cracks me up. It’s like human super mario – I love it.
